Winter Capers

Guy's mother signed him up for the school play.  Looks like he jumped right in and loved it.  He is hooked!!  Interestingly enough he played a character who is just like himself.

Not only did he do the school play but he signed himself up to be in the Dragon Dance for the 春节, Spring Festival or Chinese New Year.  Look in the very center to find him.

Grahm had his first Blue and Gold Banquet.

This weekend is the weekend of 饺子, jiao zi, dumplings.  Grahm made these beauties at Activity Days (a church group for children 8 and older, usually for the girls as the boys have scouting, but when there is no scouting then it is for all the children).

A gentleman from church brought his children over and showed us how to make our own dumplings.  好吃! Hao chi! Delicious!!!😋

Thailand

Thailand was great.  We went to a freezing cold public pool.  And got to stay with old friends.  The kids/me/brothers got to go to an arcade.  Once they left for their holiday, we went to the floating market/down town = temples/watched STAR WARS "The Last Jedi" and "JUMANJI", spoil alert = 4 kids get sucked into JUMANJI a video game.

 Floating Market
We got in a boat, traveled down canals and saw people selling wood models, coconut lamps, sticky rice, fruits, carvings and clothing.  On the way, there was a man who wanted people to pet, feel  his snakes for money.  There was a temple that we skipped.

THE HUMONGOUS RECLINING BUDDHA

One day we just wanted to explore the area and see temples and see national sights, like the palace.  We saw lots of  Buddha statues in one day.

We took a boat "taxi" to our next site.  Wished we could have used these more.

Sticky mango rice, yum!

Hair cuts
The boys got cool hair styles all except for Drake.  Total cost 7 dollars.

Sporting our new elephant pants.
