There Are Sharks In There!

Here are the last of our pictures from Australia.  With a six member family and multiple devises it is a task to gather all the documentary and in a timely manner, thus we are finally getting to the end of this trip.  This was our underwater camera from our snorkel trip to the Great Barrier Reef.

Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi

Time for some R&R.  Our first destination, Sydney!

You may be wondering what Grahm is looking at. . .

This!  We had the best view right out our front window/door/lawn area.

As you can see, we couldn't get enough of the view!

Our dock that these boys were told not to play on. . .couldn't get them off!!!!

If you look carefully at the red brick building at the bottom in the middle, that's our joint.  We had half the bottom level, perfect for our needs.  Short walk to the ferry and a tad bit longer to the subway.  Only fall back, hills and stairs with a little one who wanted to be carried most of the time.  But we made it!!!  The view was so worth it!

Chinese New Year
In Sydney it is a two week celebration and we fully participated.  Three nights of fireworks right out side our window!

A balloon "lantern" for each of the Chinese zodiac animals set up around the harbor.

Never did find 42 Wallaby Way.

We did a walk-about through the city, checking out all the main tourist points, parks, a chess game, cathedral and of course geocaches.

Aboriginal art at the Art Museum

If you "mustache" we'll tell you, the boys grew these beauties at the Maritime Museum.

Fish Market

We finally found some grub we could enjoy at the fish market.  Chocolate covered fruit and freshly squeezed orange juice.  The mango was particularly delicious!!!

Manly Beach
Yes, five Christensens showed us their most "manly" side.

So technically the beach was closed due to some rough water.  Then while everyone was busy ignoring that fact they had a shark siting and called everyone out of the water.  The life guards had a hard time keeping people out of the water even with the constant threat of jellies stings (high jelly season), the jellies were there and washing up on the beach.  They announced the consequences of that possibility, but that didn't slow our boys down.

Best $1 spent in Australia.  Slurpees!!!!

One thing we all looked forward to was the Taronga Zoo.  Fabulous!!!  A ferry ride followed by a sky lift over the zoo finally brought us to the world of animals.  The animals were active, the place was clean, we even were able to see just about all of them.  Australia has so many cool unique animals.

Cassowary, pretty cool looking isn't it!

Kangaroo section allows visitors to walk among them.  Talk about cool.  One bounded away and Drake was jumping like a kangaroo for the rest of the trip!

Main mode of transportation, ferry.

Street show guy was fun to watch, but took a long time getting to his point.

One early morning we made it to the Sydney Temple for baptisms.
