Winter (Uh. . . Summer) Palace

A gentleman from church takes visitors on tours in his spare time.  One cold Saturday he found that he had a free day, so he offered to take church members on a free tour of the Summer Palace.  Despite the cold early morning it was a treat!  We learned much of the history and quirks of the place in an easy-go-lucky style.  He was fabulous!

Frozen river.
Sled/sleigh like contraptions were available for rent, allowing you to glide your way around.

Almost frozen fish, barley moving under the frozen pond.

After the tour, Duncan, Grahm and a friend from church spent a couple more hours on the lake.  Parents went somewhere warm and had lunch.
